Side Altar
The altar in the south aisle was known as the altar of our Lady of Pity -
one of the Peckhams requested that her body “might be laid to rest in front
of the statue to our Lady of Pity in
Wrotham
Church".
The rerodos above the altar was designed by Sir Ninian Comper in
1907. It is a beautiful example
of his work and frames a painting with blue-robed, rose-chapleted angels of
the Wilton Diptych. The rerodos
is flanked on each side by riddles and curtains.
