Church Choir 

 

Rehearsals take place on Thursdays from 7.30pm until 9.30pm in Church

  • St George's Church boasts a 4-part choir: Treble/Soprano, Alto, Tenor & Bass. The choir sings an anthem each week and once a month Matins, to chanted and choral settings.

  • If you feel you would like to become involved with the choir, the Junior Section, for boys and girls from the age of 7 years old, rehearse on a Thursday evening from 7.00pm until 8.15pm
  • The Adult Section rehearsing 7.30pm until 9.30pm [except during August].
  • All you need to do is contact concert@wrothamchurch.org  Previous singing experience is not necessary; everyone can sing. All you need is enthusiasm and a little encouragement!
  • There is an initial trial period of a month to see if being in the choir is for you. Likewise, the choirmaster can advise you it's not for you.
  • What time does it take? Normally, a weekly rehearsal on a Thursday and a Sunday morning service at 10.30am for about an hour with a warm-up practice just before the service at 10.00am. At major church festivals, Advent, Christmas, Easter there are extra services to sing at, the details of these are published at the beginning of each term.
  • Also from time to time there are weddings at which the choir is asked to sing by the bride and groom and you will be paid for this!
